Fix for Sticky Cabinet Catches

This is a pretty specific modification, but if you have the same kind of cabinet catches that were installed on our Hanse 400, you may be interested.   The catches tended to get stuck when you pushed the knob in, and you had to thump the cabinet with your fist to free it up again.  It turns out these catches have a secondary mechanism in them for locking in a vertical pin to help hold the cabinet closed.   This is the mechanism that was causing the jam, and since it wasn't needed for our installation we simply removed that bit and solved the problem.   It's a bit like a tonsilectomy so we call it the hanselectomy.

A Hansilectomy is much like a Tonsilectomy.  Get rid of those things, they just cause trouble.
